Lincoln v Gillingham - Player Ratings - Written by Lewis Browning Starting XI: Jack Bonham: 7 - Gets a seven for his match-saving stop from Anderson’s header, but his poor kicking is starting to become an issue. Was almost caught out when he booted the ball at the back of Hopper early on, however was saved by his centre halves. Put Ehmer under unnecessary pressure with a short pass not long after, too. Did what he had to do to keep the ball out of the net, however, and secured another good clean sheet. Barry Fuller: 5 - Looked a bit slow and his inability to get far forward down the right, perhaps due to age, can be frustrating. When compared to Eardley and Edun of Lincoln, he’s not as, let’s say, athletic. As always, however, he made light work of the Lincoln forwards, which we know we will get. Max Ehmer: 7 - Dealt with the tough conditions really well. Had to head plenty; he didn’t always get said headers right, but he did what he had to do. Kept the bal
Lincoln City v Gillingham - Opposition Fan Preview - Written by Lewis Browning Gillingham’s men take on Lincoln City this weekend and could end the day two points off the play-off places in League One. You can read our preview of the game here. We spoke to Gary from Lincoln fan site ‘The Stacey West’ about his team’s campaign so far, how he views the game, and what he predicts for the rest of Lincoln’s season. How’s your season been so far? It’s been odd. For instance, if you offered us 15 points clear of the bottom three come February back in July, we’d have taken it all day long. However, circumstances dictate that some fans are not happy with recent developments. Obviously, losing our management team in September was a big blow and the pain from that is still evident amongst some fans. Michael Appleton has come into a tough job; how do you possibly better the most successful management team in our club’s entire history? He’s doing a good job - we were

Southend v Gillingham - Player Ratings - Written by Lewis Browning Starting XI: Jack Bonham: 7 - It was another quiet game for our number one, but in a good way. Didn’t have a meaningful save to make; picked up a few pea rollers and kind of had to stop one effort from Kelman, but the Irishman picked up his 12 th clean sheet of the league season. In short, he stopped a few, caught a couple, and that’s about it. Barry Fuller: 7 - Solid as ever. Took a couple of whacks, and he may hurt in the morning after receiving a knee to the spine, but it’s all for the cause. Is never beaten defensively and was happy to get forward more than usual due to Southend’s defensive tactics. Sometimes his passing lacks quality, but the bloke is simply a hero. Max Ehmer: 7 - Marshalled the defence well but wasn’t given an easy night. Had to deal with the pace of Kelman and lost a battle on one occasion in particular, but it’s another clean sheet for the team and a job well done by M
Southend United v Gillingham - Opposition Fan Preview - Written by Lewis Browning Gillingham’s men will head to Roots Hall this Tuesday to take on a Southend side in absolute free fall. The game brings League One action and the Gills will be looking to register a win that will place them to within four points of the play-off spots and extend their unbeaten league run to 14 games. You can read our preview of the game here . We spoke to Southend journalist and fan Chris Phillips about United’s season so far, how he views Tuesday’s game, and what he sees in the Shrimpers’ future. How’s your season been so far? Absolutely horrific, to be honest. Everyone hoped staying up on the final day of last season would be a wakeup call and that the club could get some momentum from it, but that hasn’t been the case, and it’s got much worse. It’s been the season from hell, really, and up there with the worst I have known in 30 years. I can’t wait for it to end. And your form g
Southend United v Gillingham - Match Preview - Written by Lewis Browning Gillingham’s men will head to Southend on Tuesday evening in search for a win that will put them within four points of the League One play-off places. The Gills' hosts are in turmoil – they are 14 points from safety in League One and have lost 21 of their 31 league games this season, including five of their last six. Gillingham still have a job to do, however – here’s our preview of the game. The Details Southend United v Gillingham Roots Hall SkyBet League One Tuesday February 18, 7:45pm Team News Gillingham have no fresh injury concerns following Saturday’s game against Doncaster, but may welcome back Southampton loanee Alfie Jones after the midfielder missed the last three games through injury. Gillingham v Doncaster - Player Ratings - Written by Lewis Browning Starting XI: Jack Bonham: 7 - Didn’t put a foot wrong but hardly had anything to do. Didn’t have a chance with the goal and made one good punch to stop a corner going directly in after the wind took it. Marshalled his box really well when Doncaster were coming as the game came to a close. Barry Fuller: 6 - A standard Barry Fuller performance. Defensively solid and his 35-year-old legs dealt with the pace of Doncaster’s wingers well. Doesn’t have much of an attacking threat which is a problem when the midfield is narrow, and he wants to hit the channels as much as possible, which can be frustrating. A solid showing from Barry, however. Max Ehmer: 6 - Got spun for Sheaf’s goal but it was perhaps more the attacker’s skill rather than the defender’s error. Didn’t have too much to do with Donny going one up top after the red, but swept up really well when he had to. Jack Tucker: 9 - Absolutely top class y
Gillingham v Doncaster Rovers - Opposition Fan Preview - Written by Lewis Browning Gillingham’s men will play their first home league game for over two weeks on Saturday when they host Doncaster Rovers, a team just five points ahead of them and one they will want to beat if they want to continue their play-off charge and fine unbeaten league run, which now stands at 12 games. You can read our preview of the match here . We spoke to Rovers fan Adam Stubbings, who runs a fan site named ‘Into The Empty Net’, about his team’s season so far, what he expects from both teams on the day, and how he sees the rest of Doncaster’s season going. How’s your season been so far? It’s been encouraging, all things considered. We lost a lot of players in the summer along with the manager (Grant McCann) but have bounced back, recruited smartly and now, under, Darren Moore have shown the signs of turning a transitional year into one we can seriously push for a play-off place in.
